I'm Marco, I'm writing from the UK and this is my first "contribution"
to the discussion.
I have been on the list for a few months now. The list is great: thanks.
I have learned a lot but must admit that although I have been playing
the classical guitar for many years, I am new to many concepts about
harmony and I find it difficult to follow some of the topics you have
been discussing since I joined the group. Can someone explain what a
plagal cadence is ???
I have "worked out" a chord progression I quite like of "No Moon At
All". The first part of the tune that has a nice sounding descending
bass line. However, can someone help me with the second part of the tune
(the bridge and end) ? what chord progression would you play instead of
the basic chords ?
The first part goes like this:
Dmin6 |A7/Db |Co |Emin7/B |
Em7b5/Bb |Cbm7b5/A A7#5| 1.
Dmin6 F7 |Bb7 A7 |
2.
Dmin6 |Dmin6 |
This is the part I would like help with
D7 | ./. |G7 | ./. |
|C7 | ./. |FM7 BbM7 |Em7b5 Eb7 |
|Dmin6 | ./. | ./. |
Could anybody give me any alternative chord progression for this second
section ?
I hope this is not asking too much but I would love any information on
how to approach this tune, what key centres, etc… I really like this
tune and this is my first attempt to concentrate on a song to work
something out. It might not sound like it from the many questions I am
asking but I have spent a lot of time on it and I find it difficult to
progress any further.
Thanks for your help.
