What is your method for transcribing. I've heard it all: do it at your
horn, don't do it at your horn, you NEED a pitch pipe, you NEED a
recorder that slows things down, etc, etc, etc.
Transcribing is one of the directions I need to focus more energy on. I
used to transcribe ballads and heads and stuff, but never anything at
fast tempos. What do you suggest I start with? Everyone seems to
really benifit from transcribing parker solos. I talked to one guy that
said it took him two months to transcribe his first bird solo!
any advise would be appreciated.
