Trumpeter/composer William Sperandei is one of the leaders and
co-founders of this ensemble. Mr. Sperandei is a former protege of Wynton
Marsalis (the famed classical and jazz trumpeter, composer and current
head of the jazz program at the Lincoln Centre for the Performing Arts in
New York). Mr. Sperandei was also a student of pianist/educator
Ellis Marsalis (Wynton's father) and studied classical trumpet under
Mr. James Tinsley, the current leader of the Niagara Brass.
(Mr. Sperandei also performs and records with, and oft times composes
for The Niagara Brass. He and "The Funky Boot" have just written and
recorded the soundtrack for a short film. The recording of the soundtrack
took place at BRAVO studios). "The Funky Boot" is comprised of two
trumpets, trombone, bass, drums and piano.
