Re: Stella (a little doubt on the Ab9)

Yet on the famous Ab7(9) in Stella's 8th measure:
If we start from the plagal cadence: Ebmaj7 / Ebm6 / Bbmaj7, then the Ebm6
can be disguised as a Ab7(9)/Eb as Reed's and Bert Ligon's comments so well
explained.
So (key is Bb) its a bVII7(9,#11,13) - lydian b7.
Now, diatonically, the bVII7 occours in the natural minor, but its
mixolidian, with an 11th instead of the #11 (which here makes all the
difference)
Is there any relation at all between these modes? or is it just a
substitution for the IVm6 with no diatonic meaning?
