wind players question

Those not interested in sax/wind can delete this now.

I apologize somewhat for using this list for particular
equipment questions but I don't have a better vehicle to
contact other players. The newsgroup that I can get is
even more hopeless than the guitar groups.

So first off, I was wondering if there was any interest
in other wind players in having a seperate email list??

Second, I have been playing around with amplification and
effects, just because I have the equipment. Its been good
for some fun. But this has lead me to the more serious
question. Do other horn/wind players that are playing
'for real' (I'm still a wannabe :-) use amplification,
and if so, WHAT are you using? Just the P/A, or do you
have an amp, and what about effects?

Since the equipment I have is guitar oriented I have been
trying that. In fact, my RP6 (a guitar effects processor)
has a chromatic tuner mode with alphanumeric display that
is QUITE helpful for intonation practice. I just play into
a Shure mic through a little Mackie mixer, into the RP6.

Thanks for listening, and email me 'jackv@sun.com' if you
feel there might be a useful 'wind-players' list created.

Cheers,

Jack
