| Those not interested in sax/wind can delete this now.
| Second, I have been playing around with amplification and
| effects, just because I have the equipment. Its been good
| for some fun. But this has lead me to the more serious
| question. Do other horn/wind players that are playing
| 'for real' (I'm still a wannabe :-) use amplification,
| and if so, WHAT are you using? Just the P/A, or do you
| have an amp, and what about effects?
I am playing with amplification since the time I'm playing with electric =
guitars, drums... (I play without only when I play with an accoustic =
pianist).
I was intempting first to use saxophone and flute microphones (the first =
ones in the mouth piece, the second ones at the left side of the flute), =
but the result was not good: the sound generally was not natural and the =
volume difficult to ajust.
Since 5 years, I'm playing with two singer microphones (Shure): one =
above, the other upside (when I play flute I use this second one, when I =
play soprane or clarinet I use the two).=20
I have a guitar rack of effects : it's good but very dificult to ajust =
before playing (Zoom 3030, with harmonizer)
I think for the beguinning, it's better to have simple pedal effects =
(chorus , digital delay ) : I was using this ten years ago with very =
good results.
I had a quadraverb before, but it was very dificult to see the screen =
when I was playing.
I have so an equalizer (a HIFI one, where I put inside 2 microphones =
preamplifiers) : I begin to ajust my sound with the equalizer, without =
effects first.
