The plug is well justified,as I, for one, found out about the book from
this list, found a copy, and am currently working through it. It is a
very thoughtful way of going about explaining embelishments of II-V-I
formulae. It is the first book on the subkect that I have found that goes
beyond explaining basic facts and then providing hundreds of sterile
excercises. You actually learn to hear things and unerstand what you
are hearing. We all have our own ways of learning, but I found this to be
very well suited to my tastes. It is deceptively simple, but full of
information. A great contribution to the jazz improv literature!
