A teacher of mine once had a similar paradigm.
1. The mind teaches the body (you consiously have to think about
everything you do)
2. The body teaches the mind (you are just playing and suddenly
"stumble" onto something that sounds great)
3. The mind and body work in harmony with each other (at the instant
you think of something (hear the notes in your head) you are playing
it.
