I can't answer your question, but I know that when I inquired about working
with a Latin band, the leader showed me some books that had accompaniment
figures written out and explained that this was the standard vocabulary for
jamming with traditional Latin tunes--specific patterns that go with each
kind of dance rhythm. IOW, my jazz improv skills were neither applicable
nor welcome!
That's for piano; your situation is a little different. All I can suggest
is-- listen and transcribe! (uh-oh...) ;-)
