I'm curious about that one myself. Since I first learned by ear and by
theory player my reading has never been competent as that of most
"schooled" players, and I'm often in situations where I have to sight
read. I've had to put in quite a bit of remedial work just to keep in
the work pool, and I've still got a long way to go. What's the harm in
practicing that?
