<<why not just practice playing turarounds or ii/V I progressions
in the various keys?
Dm7 G7 | C |
Dm7 G7 | Em7 A7 |
Cm Am7b5 | Dm7b5 G7 |>>
This reminded me of similar advice I received to practice ii/V I
progressions and change the key between each successive ii/V I
progression by a given interval (m2, M2, m3, M3,etc.) until you have
come full circle back to the original key, then select the next
interval and do it again.
If nothing else this exercise gave me alot of insight into the tune
"Giant Steps". Any thoughts on it's usefulness. I too am trying to
optimize my practice time with things that will pay MUSICAL dividends.
