Reed and Lawson,
Here are some changes to this tune for the opening few measures which I use
as a solo guitar arrangement, I decided to take the decending chromatic bass
line from G to G, I jump up an octave after the E9#11 which I use an open low
E for (I would love to try this on a Seven string to increase the descending
range of the bass notes):

G6/9 F#7#5 | F13 E9#11 | Ebmaj7(6/9) Dm7 | C#maj7(6/9) Cm7 | Bm9 Bb9 |
A11 Ab7b9 |Gmaj7 (after that I stop the chromaticism in the bassline).

The maj7(6/9) chords are 6/9 chords with the maj7ths as their highest notes.
For the passage with D in the melody over the Bm9, Bb9, and A11 chords the
voicings are (from thick to thin strings): Root, b7, 9, and the D on top of
each.
