I was really delighted to discover this mailing list a few days ago,
because I'm most interested in theory questions, and rec.music.bluenote
covers a lot of other ground, and has a fair amount of noise. I tend to
search for postings by Marc Sabatella, and skip the rest when I'm short
of time.

I've been struggling for years to learn jazz piano, but having fun along
the way.

Mark Levine's Jazz Piano book is my favourite so far. More on that later.

I've also been enjoying the substitutions in the Frank Mantooth (?) fake
books lately. Playing "Willow Weep For Me" starting with G7 instead of
Gmaj7 makes such a difference!
