Chord symbols

As my brother-in-law the book publisher likes to say "common usage is the
final arbiter". Chord symbols have not really ever been standardized by any
authorative body. Of all the commonly used symbols that I've seen posted to
this list the ones from Richard Tabnik are the most correct and
comprehensive in my experience.

One symbol that is also sometimes used still (although not too often
anymore because it's ambiguous) is a 7 with a horizontal slash through it
(aka: a European 7) Maj7.
