I have not censored any mail. The only thing the list server will do is
to reject mail if you are not a member of the list. I remember having
to add you in manually so some mail before I did that may have been lost.
If we ever have a flame war I may move the list to a moderated list where
I may censor but hopefully that will never happen.
You are free to express any opinion regarding improvisation.
I have my opinions and others will have different and perhaps diametrically
opposed opinions to mine. I am not trying to promote any particular agenda.
I welcome other opinions.
However, I do prefer that people make specific recommendations rather
than just criticising someone elses approach. In other words, making general
comments is fine provided that they are accompanied by something concrete.
What I don't want is to have essentially a shouting match over various
approaches. Also, making specific recommendations reduces the amount
of chatting. In other words someone has to carefully think out something
that will help answer someones question for example rather that just
saying that something someone else said is stupid or whatever.
At this point the only real rules are that forum is for those creating
jazz or teaching others to. In that sense it's not a form for the jazz
listening audience.
Especially in your case since you play great, I for one am particularly
interested
in whatever you have to say.
My comments regarding Wades post were inappropriate. I made them because
I was afraid that an earlier thread that seemed to be heading for a flame
war was about to re-emerge so I made that comment.
