I missed this point on my first reading but I guess what you are saying
here is that
you tried playing the bass line of your changes against the melody and you
liked it.
In that case you are right that we must be enterring a subjective realm.
Anyway, we can definitely agree that next time you post your changes that
you arent interested in getting a critique from me. :)
